Italian Language

Goethe and Lamartine considered traveling in Italy as a pilgrimage to the sources of "our" culture; Byron and Shelley were attracted by the sea and the perfumed air of pine heads.  Today, the appeal of Italy comes from the scenery of ancient temples, the chance of seeing and touching the works of men who have made some of the greatest masterpieces in Europe's art and culture, and knowing the language will help you to better understand , appreciate and analyse this treasury of human expression.

Like the mentioned authors several other persons have learnt during the years to appreciate and love a language that left  a lot of words in the normal language use. Italian is the Romance language closest to Latin. A knowledge of Italian, therefore, will go far in helping one to understand the whys and wherefores of the English language, which has a very large percentage of words of Latin derivation.

Music speaks Italian with words like ANDANTE, CON BRIO, fashion, art, lifestyle, cuisine.  A famous example is DOLCE VITA that it is not only one of the most famous expressions in the world but it is able to express  lifesyle, a dream, a period of time. Italy is a world leader in the culinary arts, interior design, fashion, graphic design, furniture design, etc.

Italian is actually the forth language taught as L2 in the world and every year half a million students attend Italian language courses outside Italy, in every country throughout the world and it counts about 70 million speakers worldwide . In Eastern Europe and South America the number of students has dramatically grown. In Hungary it has become the second foreign language studied after English and in Ukraine it is the most requested foreign language
